2 to 3 cups Cognac OR Brandy OR Rum *
1 quart milk
4 Eggs - lightly beaten
1/4 cup Powdered sugar
1 tsp Vanilla extract
Ground nutmeg for garnish
In a heavy saucepan, combine milk, eggs and powdered sugar.
Mix well
using a wire whisk.
Slowly bring to a simmer, over low and cook for 5
minutes,
stirring frequently with the whisk.
Remove from heat. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
Add liquor of choice.
Refrigerate until
cold.
* I have seen many recipes for eggnog some of which call for the different liquors/liqueurs mentioned above.
I think it is a matter of taste so experiement and decide for yourself.
