Gin Drinks


Gin and Tonic

2 ounces Gin
tonic water

Pour gin into a highball glass over ice cubes and top with tonic water.
Stir and serve.


Gin Rickey


1 1/2 ounces Gin
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice -- (juice of 1/2 lime)
6 ounces club soda -- (or to fill)

Fill a highball glass with ice.
Add gin and lime juice.
Fill with club soda and stir.
Garnish with a wedge of lime.


Gibson


1 1/2 ounces Gin
1/2 ounce Dry Vermouth
1 pearl onion

Fill a mixing glass with ice.
Pour in gin and dry vermouth.
Stir (or shake) and strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a pearl onion.

As you can see, a Gibson is a martini with a pearl onion instead of an olive.
To make a dry or extra dry Gibson, follow the recipes for dry and extra dry martinis,
substituting the pearl onion garnish for the olive.


Gimlet


2 ounces Gin
1/2 ounce Rose's lime juice
cracked ice

Fill mixing glass with cracked ice.
Add Gin and Rose's Lime Juice.
Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.


Tom Collins


1 1/2 ounces Gin
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice -- Juice of 1/2 lemon
club soda -- To fill

In a mixing glass, add lemon juice, powdered sugar, and gin.
Cover and shake.
Pour into collins glass filled with ice cubes, fill with club soda, and stir.
Garnish with lemon and orange slices and a maraschino cherry if desired.


Ramos Fizz


1 ounce Gin
1/2 ounce sweet cream
1 1/2 ounces fresh lemon juice
1 egg white
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
2 dashes orange juice (or orange flower water)
4 ounces club soda -- or to fill
cracked ice

Fill a mixing glass with cracked ice.
Add gin, cream, lemon juice, egg white, powdered sugar and orange juice.
Shake well and strain into a chilled Collins glass.
Top with club soda.


Singapore Sling


1 ounce Gin
2 ounces Sweet & Sour
1/2 ounce Grenadine
1 dash cherry brandy
4 ounces club soda
cracked ice
ice cubes

Fill a mixing glass with ice.
Add gin, sour mix, and grenadine.
Shake and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice cubes.
Fill with club soda and top with cherry brandy.


Rum Runner


1 1/2 ounces Gin
juice of 1 lime
1 ounce pineapple juice
1 teaspoon sugar
1 dash bitters

Shake with ice and strain over ice cubes in an old-fashioned glass rimmed with salt.
I have no idea why this drink is named a Rum Runner instead of a Gin Runner!


Douglas Fairbanks


2 Ounces Gin
1 Ounce Apricot Brandy
6 Dashes Lime Juice
A Little Egg White

Shake well and serve in a medium-sized glass.


Dubonnet Cocktail


2 Ounces Gin
2 Ounces Dubonnet
Lemon Peel

Pour ice into a glass add gin and dubonnet.
Strain into chilled glass and add lemon peel.


Italian Valium


1 1/2 ounces Gin
1 1/2 ounces Amare

Pour equal amounts in a large shot glass and serve.


Geisha Cup


1 1/2 ounces Gin
1 ounce Apricot brandy
2 ounces Orange juice
2 ounces Grapefruit juice

Mix all ingredients, with cracked ice in a shaker or blender and serve in a chilled Collins glass.
Garnish with cherry if desired.


Alaska


3 Ounces Gin
1 Ounce Yellow Chartreuse

Serve over ice.


Apple Blossom


2 Ounces Gin
1 Ounce Orange Juice
2 Dashes Calvados

Serve over ice.


Astoria


2 Ounces Gin
1 Ounce Vermouth
4 Dashes Campari Bitter
2 Olives

Pour over ice in a strainer cup. Strain and serve.


Atomic Bomb


2 Ounces Gin
1 Ounce Benedictine
4 Dashes Curacao

Mix together and serve over ice.


Aviation


1 Ounce Gin
Juice Of 1/2 Lemon
2 Dashes Maraschino Liqueur

Mix together and serve over ice.


Orange Blossom


1 ounce Gin
1/2 ounce Triple Sec
2 ounces orange juice
cracked ice

Fill a mixing glass with ice.
Add gin, triple sec, and orange juice.
Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.


Pink Pussy Cat


1 1/2 ounces Gin
Pineapple Juice
Grenadine

In a highball glass with crushed ice, add gin.
Fill with pineapple juice.
Add a splash of grenadine to make the drink pink.


Pink Lady


1 ounce Gin
1/2 ounce Grenadine
2 ounces heavy cream
cracked ice

Fill a mixing glass with cracked ice.
Add gin, grenadine, and cream.
Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
