1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoons milk
6 cups vanilla ice cream
--Chocolate Syrup--
Stir sugar and water in saucepan over
medium-low heat until sugar dissolves.
Increase heat and bring to boil.
Place cocoa in small bowl.
Gradually whisk in sugar syrup.
Return mixture to same saucepan.
Boil 1 minute, whisking constantly.
Pour into bowl.
Whisk in vanilla and cool completely.
Cover and chill until cold,
at least one hour.
Makes enough for 3 batches.
Pour 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup and
1 tablespoons milk into blender.
Add ice cream and blend until smooth.
Strawberry Shake
1/2 cup Strawberries (or more)
1 cup Cold Milk
Whole Strawberries
2 tablespoons Honey
1 cup Plain Yogurt
Puree 1/2 cup strawberries and honey
2 ripe bananas, peeled
Wrap bananas in plastic wrap.
1/2 banana, cut into pieces
In a blender,
1 cup vanilla ice cream
Blend together ice cream, cream, pineapple,
in blender or food processor.
Add milk and yogurt;
garnish each with a whole strawberry.
Strawberry-Banana Shake
2 cups plain nonfar yogurt
1 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries
Freeze until firm, about 3 hours.
Break bananas into quarters.
Combine bananas with yogurt
and strawberries in blender.
Blend until smooth.
Orange-Banana Shake
1/2 cup orange juice
1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1 tsp. sugar
blend all ingredients until smooth.
Serve immediately.
Tropical Shake
3/4 cup light cream
1 can (8 1/4 oz.) crushed pineaplle, undrained
1/3 cup frozen orange juice concentrate
1 babana, sliced
3 to 4 ice cubes
toasted coconut, optional
frozen orange juice and banana.
Add ice cubes one at a time
until mixture is thick and foamy.
If desired,
sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon toasted coconut atop.
Serve immediately.
