Chocolate Fudge Cookies

  
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
8 ounces semisweet chocolate 
-- chopped
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate 
-- chopped
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
12 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

In a large bowl, 
sift together the flour, cocoa, 
baking soda, and salt. 
Set aside.
In a double boiler, 
melt semisweet and unsweetened 
chopped chocolate until smooth.
In another large bowl, 
cream the brown sugar 
and butter.
Add the eggs, one at a time, 
beating well 
after each addition.
Add the vanilla extract 
and melted chocolate and 
beat until combined.
Add the sifted flour mixture 
and beat 
until thoroughly combined.
Drop by 2 level tablespoonfuls 
onto cookie sheets.
Bake for 18 to 22 minutes.  
Allow cookies to cool for 3-5
minutes before removing.
