Cream shortening, sugar,
Oatmeal Cookies
1 cup of shortening
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 cups of flour
1/2 cup of raisins
(nuts or
chocolate chips
may be substituted)
1 cup of oats
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
eggs and vanilla together.
Add and mix in oats.
Mix in the other dry ingredients.
Refrigerate until chilled
(several hours).
Create walnut sized balls
and place them on
an ungreased cookie sheet.
Press each ball flat
with a sugared glass.
Cook 10 to 12 minutes
at 375 degrees in the oven.
