Sugar Cookies

1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cream of tarter
1 egg
1 teaspoon lemon flavoring
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon baking soda dissolved in milk
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour sifted

Sift dry ingredients together.
Cream shortening, add sugar, add egg
and mix until light and fluffy.
Add dry ingredients alternately
with milk to sugar mixture.
Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
