New Orleans-Style
"Barbequed" Shrimp


1 cup olive oil
1/2 lb. butter
2 bay leaves
2 cups beer
3 teaspoons minced garlic
1 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup hot pepper sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried oregano
5 lbs. Shrimp

Simmer all ingredients 
except shrimp 
together for 10 minutes; 
set aside and cool.
Transfer to a large 
ovenproof container 
and marinate shrimp 
in this mixture 
for about 45 minutes.  
Place in preheated 
450 degree oven 
until shrimp are 
just cooked through, 
about 20 minutes; 
turning occasionally.
Serve hot.
